Welcome to the Save Coogee Beach website set up and maintained by Coogee and Randwick  residents.

This site provides a platform to keep locals, ratepayers, and all those who enjoy Coogee Beach and its surrounding areas informed about: council, planning, development, issues, events, and groups etc.

The proposal to develop the site of the Coogee Bay Hotel with a high-rise tower and a number of other major buildings would set a very dangerous precedent if approved. The character of Coogee is sustained by the current 12 metre height limit in the zoning. If one high building is allowed then others will follow as surely as night follows day. One only has to look at Surfers Paradise and Tweed Heads to see what could happen.
